Motorcycle accident kills Pennsylvania man

On Behalf of | Mar 21, 2014 | Motorcycle Accidents

As the weather warms, many Pennsylvanians will take to the roadways on their motorcycles. While this can be a fun, relaxing way to spend some free time or an enjoyable way to get to school or work, other motorists can put motorcyclists in danger. When a distracted or negligent driver causes a motorcycle crash, riders can be left with catastrophic injuries or dead.

A recent Pennsylvania motorcycle wreck left a renowned auctioneer dead. The fatal motorcycle crash occurred less than a mile from where the victim bought the new motorcycle when an SUV’s failure to yield caused the bike to slam into the vehicle. Sadly, though friends described the deceased as a careful rider, even his attentive riding could not protect him from a negligent or distracted driver. The deceased leaves behind a family and a successful auction business.

A motorcycle accident victim and his or her family can be left with a whirlwind of hurt. Physical and emotional pain may be debilitating, and financial losses may throw a victim and his family into instability. Those who are fortunate enough to survive a motorcycle accident often struggle to regain their health and they often incur costly medical expenses, including long-term care related to permanent disability, which can be exacerbated when he or she is rendered unable to work. A surviving family may also be left emotionally devastated by their loss at a time when they must find money to cover medical costs, funeral expense and their deceased loved one’s lost wages.

The best way to recover damages related to motorcycle accidents is to file a lawsuit against the driver who caused the accident. An attorney can discuss the process with a victim or his or her surviving family and provide guidance as to possible legal steps they can take. Then, once fully informed of their rights, victims and their families can make decisions that support their best interests and give them a chance to obtain compensation and closure.
