On Behalf of | Feb 3, 2016 | Wrongful Death

A tragic head-on accident claimed the lives of five Pennsylvania residents as they were traveling along Interstate 81. One vehicle involved in the fatal crash was occupied by four co-workers, originally from India, who worked in Scott Township. The four men were going home from work at the time of the fatal accident, which also caused the death of one other person.

According to law enforcement, the car occupied by the four men was hit head-on by another vehicle that was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes. The northbound car was occupied by a driver and a passenger, with the passenger suffering fatal injuries. It is not known why the vehicle was driving in the wrong lane on the Interstate.

The driver was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, other traffic-related violations and four counts of vehicular homicide. Law enforcement stated that more criminal charges charges could be forthcoming. Two of the deceased accident victims were married and left behind two young children. The consequences of this accident will reverberate throughout the victims’ community for years to come.

A fatal accident can impact a Pennsylvania family and a community for years to come. Those left behind could be left with medical bills, funeral costs and other crippling expenses. During this time of grief, it is appropriate to seek legal counsel regarding the possibility of litigating a wrongful death civil claim in order to seek recovery of financial losses. A case evaluation will determine what legal options are available in the aftermath of such a tragedy.
