Helping You Get The Medical Benefits You Deserve

Has your employer been slow to address your workplace injury, including the medical and health care benefits you need to recover and return to your job?

Pennsylvania workers’ compensation laws state that you are entitled to specific benefits if you are injured in the course of your duties. In many cases, these benefits can be delayed, denied, limited, reduced or terminated prematurely, in which case you have rights that must be protected.

In Chambersburg, in Harrisburg and across the state, the attorneys who can help you when you are in urgent need of health care are at DiLoreto, Cosentino & Bolinger.

Our law firm has safeguarded the interests of Pennsylvania workers since 1982 in workers’ compensation and third-party liability claims. We are available to help clients at every stage of the workers’ comp process, including preparing and filing the initial application, filing appeals if a claim was denied, and defending clients when insurers seek to reduce benefits.

The contingency fee basis for our work means you owe no attorney fees unless we win the medical benefits you deserve.

What Medical Care Is Covered By Workers’ Compensation In Pennsylvania?

Workers’ compensation covers many services, such as appointments with your doctor, surgeries related to the workplace injury, physical therapy to recover from the injury or surgery, and prescriptions, or over-the-counter medications needed for any workplace injury or illness. If you need a medical service or product due to an injury or illness that you received while working, there is a strong chance that your workers’ compensation will cover the expenses.

What Doctor Can You Go To For Your Work Injury?

You have the right to choose your own doctor, unless your employer has accepted your workers’ compensation claim, offered you a list of health care professionals you can see, provided you a written statement that requires you to see one of these providers, you signed a document that acknowledged this list when you were hired and after your injury.

Can You Get A Second Opinion About Your Work Injury?

Getting a second opinion in any medical situation is often a good idea. Whether you disagree with your initial doctor or just want to be sure that you are getting an accurate diagnosis, a second opinion may be necessary for you. You have the right to gain a second opinion on your workers’ compensation claim at your own expense. Your employer may be restricted to follow the orders of the work-approved doctor, however.

Can Workers’ Comp Stop Your Medical Benefits?

It is possible for you to lose your medical benefits during your workers’ compensation claim. Your employer can choose to stop paying your premiums, but there are exceptions. If your employment contract mandates that your employer continues to pay your insurance during these claims, or you apply to use your Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) time, you cannot lose your health insurance benefits during this timeframe.
