Settlement granted to victim of Pennsylvania car accident

On Behalf of | Jul 30, 2015 | Car Accidents

A Pennsylvania judge has granted a settlement to five different plaintiffs in a lawsuit over a car accident. The defendant was ordered to pay $30,000, split between the five defendants, for his actions that led to personal injuries and financial loss. According to a report, the five men were riding as passengers at the time of the car accident.

It is thought that the man was driving recklessly at the time of the crash. His negligent and preventable actions led to the injuries of the men, which included severe physical impairment, impacting bodily function. It is not uncommon for car accident injuries of all kinds to impact physical functioning, including the ability to work, lift heavy objects or even perform normal daily tasks.

The lawsuit filed on behalf of the men states that they were left with medical expenses that were in excess of the amount recoverable under the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law. The ordered amount will be paid by the defendant’s insurance company. Car accidents can leave victims with exorbitant medical bills, and this case illustrates the importance of seeking legal counsel when seeking financial recompense.

Car accident victims commonly feel overwhelmed by their physical and financial situation, but these circumstances do not have to be navigated alone. In fact, there may be multiple sources of potential income available, which can be identified by a knowledgeable personal injury lawyer. In order to understand available legal options, it is recommended that an injured victim seek a complete case evaluation with a knowledgeable lawyer.
