Pennsylvania woman injured in accident in Worcester

On Behalf of | Sep 25, 2013 | Car Accidents

A 54-year-old woman from Souderton was injured in a crash involving two vehicles on Sept. 18. The car accident occurred in Worcester Township around noon when an 18-year-old driver of a 2003 Jeep Liberty struck the woman’s vehicle.

The driver of the Jeep was traveling south on Potshop Road when he failed to navigated a right curve and ended up crossing over the center line of the road. When he did so, he went into the opposite lane and collided with the woman’s 2005 Volkswagen Jetta. The woman had to be transported to Einstein Montgomery Medical Center via Lower Providence’s EMS. The severity of her injuries was unknown.

The driver of the Jeep was uninjured in the accident, but he was cited with failure to maintain his lane. After the crash, the Volkswagen was facing east when it came to rest on the right shoulder of the northbound lane of Potshop Road. The Jeep was also facing east when it came to rest, but it was blocking the southbound lane of the road.

Personal injury laws allow people to seek compensation that could reimburse them for their medical expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering when they are involved in car accidents. Most personal injury lawsuits are settled outside the courtroom. However, personal injury attorneys might be able to launch their own investigations into the causes of car accidents and then use that evidence to prove their clients’ claims in a court of law, if need be. Attorneys could also be able to secure better settlements from insurance companies in a more timely manner than they might have done on their own.
