As the warmer weather is beginning to disappear, there may be more motorists on the road trying to enjoy the last days of the sun and enjoyable rides. Although motorcyclists need to watch out for vehicles, the drivers of vehicles need to keep an eye out for motorcyclists as well. This can go a long way in preserving lives across the state of Pennsylvania by minimizing the number of motorcycle accidents that occur.
On a recent Thursday, a man was enjoying the scenery on his motorcycle. Unfortunately, late that afternoon, he was involved in a fatal accident. Apparently, there was another vehicle in the northbound lanes of the same highway that he was traveling on. That vehicle started to make a left turn, which was in the direct path of the motorcyclist.
As a result of the driver reportedly failing to yield the appropriate right of way, his vehicle was put directly into the path of the motorcycle and its driver. The motorcyclist was taken to a medical center for treatment, but he passed away from the injuries sustained in the accident a short time later. The condition of the other driver was not reported.
Left-hand turns are something that drivers need to be more careful about because they can prove to be very dangerous without proper vigilance. Left-hand turns can easily result in serious and sometimes fatal motor vehicle and motorcycle accidents. Should the family of a deceased motorcyclist, such as this man, decide to pursue a Pennsylvania wrongful death, it is important that all relevant information pertaining to the accident is gathered and thoroughly examined. This information will be necessary to support a claim that the other driver was at fault for the accident and that his or her negligence contributed to the tragic incident.
